Does anyone play bioshock 2

The final plot twist alone is worth the price of admission. Contents of this thread are a bit surreal. Almost no one on here was down with Bioshock 2 when it came out; the thread was replete with pronunciations of disappointment.

I skipped Bioshock 2 after playing it for about 30 minutes. It was pretty disappointing after playing Bioshock 1 which is my favorite of the series. I never would have guessed I was in the minority of not enjoying 2. I just didn't enjoy it at all. Loved the first one, just couldn't get into 2.

Maybe someday I'll have to give it a go again. Nemesis has spoken. Big daddy hes fav part. The purchase line starts behind me.

Please remain orderly. Thank you for your cooperation. The exception being the Minerva's Den expansion was that only on consoles? Jakal wrote: And there you have it, folks. I interpreted that as Big Daddy may fave part, and may not fave part.

Who fave part do you? Who are these people that buy games and then don't play them? Oh, its you. I don't get it. Are you asking if you should play it next , or at all? If you liked the first game then definitely play the second. It's pretty much the same, just a bit different. Bioshock 2 is more of the same. The story is good, but not as good as the first. You won't get the shock and awe of seeing Rapture that you got from the first.

The action is a bit better, since you can use guns and plasmids at the same time. IIRC it was a bit more balanced, rather than Bioshock 1's "hit everything with a wrench until it dies, or maybe use the stunlocking electric shotgun if its a big daddy and the respawn point is a long way away". The main negative point is that you'll feel like you've seen it all before. I didn't complete it, since I got a bit burned out on the gameplay.

There is nothing in 2 that is useful for an understanding of Infinite's backstory. I think there is the tiniest of nods to the plot of 2 in one of Infinite's scenes. Infinite is really a stand alone game, but has a few references to 1.

I'd suggest going straight to Infinite, then going back to 2 if you're still in the mood for that sort of gameplay. Playing all three back-to-back is likely to result in you getting bored during either 2 or Infinite. Infinite is a game that is great as long as you can maintain immersion. If you start getting bored, you'll start to see it as a linear shooter instead of a believable world and it will sour your experience. I agree that 2 is more of the same, but personally I didn't enjoy nearly as much.

Stopped playing midway through. I found the fights against the big sisters annoying. I couldn't even give you detailed reasons, but I really didn't feel it was anywhere near as good as 1.

Looks like I might be in the minority though. I'd rather not say anything else, because not knowing it's coming makes even more of an impact. It's near the end of the game, though, so I can see a lot of people giving up on the "more of the same" before they get there. Quoted for truth. The halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past.

Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture. Players step into the boots of the most iconic denizen of Rapture, the Big Daddy, as they travel through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and their own survival.

Enter the Protector Trials: frantic combat challenges designed to push your mastery of weapons and Plasmids to the limit. Opposition mounts as your Little Sister nears her goal -- will you survive the onslaught? Each Trial features three unique weapon and Plasmid load-outs, keeping the challenge fresh, as well as a fourth bonus load-out the player receives when all previous load-outs are completed.

Despite strong reviews and sales in excess of two-and-a-half million, BioShock 2 was deemed a failure by 2K parent company Take-Two Interactive, and Jordan's team was dissolved. Unfortunately, Fall of Rapture was excluded from the re-release, leaving it only accessible through Xbox , PlayStation 3, or the non-remastered version on Steam.

A decade on, Jordan remains proud of what 2K Marin and their comrades achieved, especially given the pressurized environment. As a new BioShock looms, featuring several higher-ups from his tenure, he has some thoughts on what the next instalment could do to stand-out, starting with a deliberate change of setting.

My interest would be to take it away from pure combat. I would love the 'Tourist Mode' that people often talk about to be prominent.
