Why is soul eater so short

The main villain is the witch Medusa, who wishes to revive the dark god Asura and turn innocent humans into evil kishin. These events lead to alliances among the Death Weapon Meister Academy students and Medusa in order to face an even greater threat.

The anime ran from to , produced by studio Bones and later licensed by Funimation. It would receive both a normal broadcast around pm and a late-night version with additional footage befitting the macabre, spooky series. It would even be broadcast on Adult Swim when it finally came to America a few years later. Unfortunately, this didn't result in any continuation of the series.

Soul Eater's anime ended over ten years ago , which was actually before the manga it was based on came to an end. Around halfway throughout its run the anime had already caught up to the manga and, from there, went off into an original direction. When Okubo's manga ended, Soul Eater was thrust back into the public spotlight for a short period of time, but the window has since passed.

For a short period, fans were encouraged about Soul Eater 's chance at getting a reboot when Bones Studios created an anime spinoff for the franchise. Soul Eater Not! The show was well-received by critics, but it failed to sustain ratings in Japan where networks base their bank on.

So, for now, it looks like fans will have to wonder what might have been if the original anime had been able to ride out all of Okubo's manga.
