Euodia and Syntyche were involved in significant Christian ministry, possibly as leaders. Lydia is another woman connected with the Philippian church. Lydia was the first convert to Christianity in Philippi. In fact, she was the first convert in Europe.

Lydia was a wealthy woman Acts , and probably had a relatively spacious home. We know that the fledgeling Philippian church met in her home Acts Philippi was the chief city of Macedonia Acts and it has been well documented that Macedonian women enjoyed greater freedom and powers than many other women of that time.
